CarAuctionBuyer.com is run by Chris Forkan Consulting Ltd and operated at a local level by MotorSaveOnline. The latter is a national association of independent, professional, motor traders. Chris Forkan has 25 years experience in the motor trade operating at all levels. In 1995 he was made a Fellow of the Motor industry for achievements in the Motor Trade.

Your local operator will contact you to discuss suitable auction dates, venues and your car / van requirements

You will meet your local operator at the agreed auction 1 hour before it begins for a briefing

You will receive a free catalogue of the entries and be shown where to find the cars / vans that you are interested in. He will bid on your behalf to a figure that you have agreed with him

You will normally pay a deposit of £500 on your purchase if it is at a British Car Auction Site or £300 at a Manheim Auction. You can do this by Switch or Delta card. Cash is the other alternative.

Usually 1 hour later you can pay the remaining balance by the same payment methods. Having paid you are given the documents and the necessary “pass out” for your car / van.

All auctions charge a buyer's premium. For a private buyer, a £7,500 car buyer’s premium would cost you around £220. When we use our trade account for you, that fee reduces to £80 (saving you £140). A car purchased for £12,000 would have a car buyer’s auction premium of £360 or just £96 through our account (saving you £264).

Our fee is based on the price of car/van that you purchase: 5% on up to £3000, 4% on up to £5000 and 3% on over £5000. This fee will include your operator arranging for a free HPi report on your car to be posted to you.
